Sippin’ and Sizzlin’ into Summer [Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON]

Sip and SIzzle - InniskillinIt’s beyond me why mother earth kept summer from us for so long this year. Thankfully, May brought with it buds on the vines and hope of the warmer weather that was to come. And, I had the pleasure of enjoying the sunshine with a glass of wine in one hand and some nosh in the other.

Usually spring means Herb and Wine time in Niagara-on-the-Lake but this year the passport event got a little bit of a facelift and new name – Sip and Sizzle. Instead of wines being paired with different herbs, the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake fired up their grills and paired some great, smokey flavours with their favourite vintages.

I had the pleasure of visiting some old friends, and made some new ones, and wanted to share my sunny experience with you. I must say, I don’t ever get tired of learning more about the heart of the people behind the local gems that are our Ontario wineries.

Here are the wineries that I visited, the pairings that I enjoyed with a ❂ beside my favourite Sip and Sizzle pairings.

And, as always, I’ve taken the best of the best from the Local Lux camera and created some candy for your eyes. I found this event to not only be delicious but loved that it was full of colour and people who were overjoyed to finally welcome summer to the wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake!
