There isn’t anything I don’t love about Magnolia trees; they are gorgeous to look at and smell like a fresh spring day. I first saw one in full bloom when I lived in Niagara on a neighbour’s lawn around the corner from my home. In the spring I drove by it every day on my way to work and home again and loved seeing it bloom a beautiful pale pink.
Thankfully, having moved to Burlington I am not in a position to have to give up my love of Magnolias. As it turns out, The Arboretum at The Royal Botanical Gardens boasts some of the tallest, most colourful and beautiful Magnolia trees I’ve ever seen. And, on one spring weekend they organize a BBQ and live music at The Arboretum to celebrate these beautiful trees in full bloom.
Here are a few snapshots from Celebrate Magnolias at the RBG Arboretum in May 2014 – there are some beautiful Magnolias and a few other spring buds.
